Introduction to Stained, Mosaic and Kiln Formed
Glass Techniques
September 23-November 11, 7-10pm, $395 ($80 deposit)

During this 8 week course, learn the basics in all four popular art glass techniques. 2 weeks each will be spent creating a piece in each dicipline. 1 panel each in the copper foil and lead came technique, a 12” squre mosaic mirror and a fused panel. All materials included and tools provided for use in class.

Fused and Leaded Contemporary Panels II
Thursdays, Nov.18 - Dec. 9, 7-10pm, $325 ($80 Deposit)
*HST is included in the cost.
Each student will create one-of-a-kind art glass using System 96 glass frit, confetti, powder and stringers to use in the making of a quilt style 16” X 24” leaded panel. Once fired, the art glass will be cut and refired into quilt-like designs and incorporated into a simple leaded panel. Basic fusing and lead construction will be covered. Glass cutting experience a must. All materials and firings included in cost.

Fused Mosaic Lamps
Thursdays, Sept. 23 & 30,7:30-9:30pm, $175
Set the mood with softly glowing fused and slumped mosaic style lamps. A combination of two techniques written up in Glass Patterns Quarterly, each student will create both the shade and the stand. Materials and electrical included.

Fused Mosaic Mirrors
Thursdays, Oct. 14,21 & 28, 7:30-9:30pm, $250
Inspired by the process we used in the Sick Kids Hospital project, these 12” X 16” mosaic mirrors all made with fused glass. Single and multi-layer designs will be incorporated. Traditional grouting techniques will be covered. Materials included. No beginners please.

Fused Pendant Lamps
Thursdays, Nov. 4 & 11, 7:30-9:30pm, $175
Why learn how to drape? To make these beauties of course! Using System 96 pre-cut 12” blanks, each student will cast, colour, drape and wire their very own pendant drop lamp. Casting on kiln safe powders, draping and glass drilling will be covered. Materials included. Beginners welcome.

Private Individual or Group Lessons

Can't make a class or workshop? Glowing Panes offers private individual and group classes or workshops. This is a great oppertunity to receive critique and pointers to enhance your stained or fused glass technique or to learn something new. Otherwise, organize a group of friends and make a night or day of it! Contact melanie@glowingpanes.net for further details

An $80 deposit (refundable with a minimum 1 week notice- NO EXCEPTIONS) is required to register in any of these courses. The balance is due on the first evening of the course. No refunds will be given to anyone unable to attend all classes.
